What IELTS score do you need for Hanyang University?

Your TOEFL or IELTS must still be valid on the first day of the online application. Applicants from countries recognised as English-speaking by Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs are exempt and treated as meeting the requirement; the guide points to that ministry's list rather than naming countries.

PTE Academic and Duolingo are not mentioned in the guide, which names only TOEFL iBT and IELTS for the English Track.

The 2027 Spring graduate guidelines make an English certificate (TOEFL iBT, IELTS, CEFR or other recognised tests) necessary only for departments that require it, including English Tracks, and optional elsewhere. They set no university-wide IELTS figure, so check your department. Korean Track graduate students must reach TOPIK level 4 or take a leave of absence until they do.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Hanyang programme page and in your admission decision, so check it there before you book a test.
