What IELTS score do you need for Southeast Missouri State University?

Graduate applicants meet the requirement with TOEFL iBT 79 (before 21 January 2026) or 4.0 (after), IELTS Academic 6.0, iTEP 3.9, PTE Academic or PTE Express 53, Duolingo 110, Michigan English Test 57, Oxford ELLT 7, SEMO's IEP GradCAP, ELS Level 112, or a bachelor's from a regionally accredited US institution. Completing secondary or higher education in a listed country where English is the official language of education also qualifies. The list includes Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, the UK and Canada (except Quebec); India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh are not on it.

First-year and transfer applicants need TOEFL iBT 61 (3.5 new), IELTS Academic 5.5, PTE Academic or Express 45, Duolingo 95, Oxford ELLT 6 or Level 5 of SEMO's Intensive English Program. SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 450, ACT 21 in English and Reading, WAEC results, verified O Level, AS or A Level results, or a diploma from an English-medium IB school also count.

Pathway applicants can be admitted with IELTS 5.0, TOEFL 52–60 (3.0 new), PTE 40–43, Duolingo 80–90 or ELLT 5.
