Birds questions with sample answers

1

How often do you see birds where you live?

Pretty much every single day, actually. I live on the top floor of a block of flats near a public park, so I often spot pigeons and sparrows perching on my balcony railing first thing in the morning.

2

What kinds of birds are common in your area?

Well, mostly urban species like seagulls, crows, and small garden birds like robins. If you head down towards the local canal, you'll also come across quite a few ducks and swans gliding along the water.

3

Did you learn about birds when you were a child?

A little bit in primary school science lessons, though it was mostly basic stuff like life cycles and migration. To be honest, I picked up much more from my grandad, who used to point out different species in his back garden.

4

Do you enjoy watching birds?

Yes, I find it surprisingly relaxing. Whenever I go for a walk in the countryside at the weekend, I love hearing birdsong in the trees. It’s a great way to unwind and feel a bit closer to nature.

5

Would you ever keep a bird as a pet?

I don't think so, really. I’ve always felt a bit uncomfortable seeing birds locked in cages because they're meant to fly free. Plus, they can make quite a racket and leave a huge mess behind.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
