Butterflies questions with sample answers

1

Do you often see butterflies where you live?

Not very often, actually, because I live in a fairly built-up area. During the summer months, though, I occasionally spot a few fluttering around the flowerbeds in our local public park, especially bright yellow or white ones.

2

Did you like butterflies when you were a child?

Yes, I was quite fascinated by them. I remember chasing them around my grandparents' back garden for hours during the summer holidays, trying to get a close look without frightening them away. I loved their vibrant colours.

3

What do you think about butterflies?

I think they are lovely creatures, to be honest. Unlike wasps or mosquitoes, they aren't annoying or threatening at all. Plus, they play a really vital role in pollinating plants, so they are genuinely good for the environment.

4

Have you ever visited a butterfly house or garden?

Yes, I went to a tropical greenhouse at a botanical garden a couple of years ago. It was amazing because hundreds of exotic species were flying freely around us, and a huge blue one even landed on my shoulder for a moment.

5

Do butterflies have any special meaning in your culture?

I suppose so. In traditional folklore, they often symbolise transformation and new beginnings because of their life cycle. Some people also associate them with the spirits of departed loved ones, which is quite a comforting thought.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
