Footpaths questions with sample answers

1

Do you often walk on footpaths in your local area?

Yes, pretty much every day. I live quite close to a bustling high street, so I tend to walk to the local bakery and the chemist on the pavement instead of taking the bus, especially when the weather is mild.

2

Are the pavements in your town well maintained?

Honestly, it is a bit of a mixed bag. The footpaths right in the town centre are spotless and even, but once you get into the residential suburbs, there are quite a few cracked paving slabs and potholes that can be quite hazardous.

3

Do you prefer walking on nature trails or city pavements?

I would definitely lean towards nature trails. Walking through woodland paths or along riverbanks is far more peaceful, and the fresh air is wonderful. City pavements just feel a bit hectic with all the traffic rushing past.

4

Did you walk on footpaths much when you were younger?

Yes, all the time. My primary school was only about a ten-minute stroll from our house, so my mum and I walked along the pavement together every morning, stopping to chat with neighbours along the way.

5

Would you like to see more pedestrian areas where you live?

Absolutely. It would be brilliant if the local council pedestrianised more of the shopping district. It makes walking around so much safer and pleasant when you do not have to worry about cars or exhaust fumes.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
