Sandals questions with sample answers

1

Do you often wear sandals?

Only in the summer, really. When the weather gets quite warm, I like letting my feet breathe, especially if I'm just running errands or heading down to the local beach. During the rest of the year, though, it's far too chilly, so I stick to trainers or boots.

2

What kind of sandals do you prefer?

I definitely go for comfort over style. I usually choose leather ones with thick, cushioned soles and adjustable straps. I bought a sturdy pair a couple of years ago for a walking holiday in Greece, and they were brilliant because they didn't give me blisters at all.

3

Did you wear sandals when you were a child?

Yes, all the time during school holidays. My parents always bought me those classic plastic flip-flops or buckled sandals for playing outside in the garden. I remember having a bright red pair that I practically lived in until I outgrew them.

4

Do people in your country often wear sandals?

It depends on the season, to be honest. During heatwaves or sunny weekends, you'll see loads of people wearing them around town or in parks. However, in workplaces or formal settings, it's generally frowned upon, so most people only wear them in casual situations.

5

Have you ever bought a pair of sandals online?

I have once, but it was a bit of a gamble. Footwear sizes can vary quite a bit between shops, and unfortunately, the strap rubbed against my heel. Since then, I prefer trying them on in a physical shop to make sure they fit properly.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
