Skirts questions with sample answers

1

Do you often wear skirts?

Not very often, to be honest. I usually lean towards trousers or jeans just because they're far more practical for commuting on the underground. However, if the weather is particularly warm in the summer, I might put on a light cotton skirt over the weekend.

2

What kind of skirts do you prefer?

I definitely prefer midi skirts made from breathable fabrics like linen. A-line cuts suit me best because they're comfortable and don't restrict your movement. I tend to avoid anything too tight or overly patterned, preferring plain, neutral colours like navy or beige.

3

Did you wear skirts when you were younger?

Yes, all the time, mainly because my primary school uniform required girls to wear pleated navy skirts. Outside of school, though, I was a bit of a tomboy, so my mother had quite a hard time getting me into anything frilly for family gatherings.

4

Do people in your country often wear skirts?

Yes, quite a lot, especially among women during the warmer months. You'll see everything from casual denim skirts on teenagers to smart pencil skirts in office settings. Traditional long skirts are also fairly common for older generations during cultural festivals.

5

Do you think skirts are suitable for formal occasions?

Absolutely, yes. As long as the style and fabric are appropriate, a skirt can look very elegant. For example, a tailored pencil skirt paired with a smart blouse and heels is a classic choice for business meetings or formal dinners.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
