Cinemas questions with sample answers

1

How often do you go to the cinema?

I'd say once every couple of months, usually when there's a major release I really want to see. Cinema tickets have got quite steep lately, so I tend to save visits for big-budget blockbusters. Last month, I went with a colleague to watch a gripping science-fiction film.

2

Did you go to the cinema much when you were a child?

Yes, quite regularly actually. My parents used to take my brother and me to the local picture house almost every weekend during the summer holidays. We'd always get a large tub of salted popcorn to share, which felt like a massive treat back then.

3

What kind of films do you like watching on the big screen?

I'm a big fan of action-packed thrillers and fantasy epics. Those genres really benefit from the immersive sound system and massive projection, whereas I'm happy to watch quiet dramas or light comedies on my laptop at home.

4

Do you prefer watching films at home or in a cinema?

To be honest, it depends on my mood, but I generally lean towards the cinema. There's something special about the whole atmosphere, sitting in a dark room with total strangers and getting completely absorbed in the story without any household distractions.

5

Do you think you will go to the cinema more often in the future?

I doubt it, to be frank. I'm going to be really busy with work over the next year, so I'll probably rely on on-demand streaming services in the evenings instead. I imagine going to the cinema will remain an occasional weekend outing for me.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
