The moon questions with sample answers

1

Do you often look at the moon at night?

Yes, fairly often, especially when there's a full moon. I live in a flat with a small balcony, so I tend to step outside before going to bed just to get some fresh air. If the sky is clear, I find gazing at it really calming after a busy day.

2

Have you ever taken a photo of the moon?

I have, though it rarely turns out well on a mobile phone. A few months ago, there was a dramatic harvest moon, and I tried to capture it, but the picture just ended up looking like a tiny blurry dot rather than anything spectacular.

3

Do people in your country celebrate any festivals related to the moon?

Yes, we do. There's a traditional autumn festival where families gather to eat special pastries and appreciate the full moon together. It's quite a big deal in my culture, and I have fond memories of lighting paper lanterns in the garden with my cousins.

4

Did you learn much about the moon when you were at school?

A bit in primary school science lessons, I suppose. We covered the basics like lunar phases and how the moon causes ocean tides. We even had a class project where we built miniature models of the solar system using painted polystyrene balls.

5

Would you like to travel to the moon in the future?

To be honest, probably not. While the idea of seeing Earth from outer space sounds incredible, the journey seems far too risky and uncomfortable. I'm much happier staying grounded and watching space documentaries from the comfort of my sofa.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.

Two or three sentences, about 15 to 20 seconds: a direct answer, a reason and one detail. One-word answers cost fluency marks, and long speeches eat into the examiner's time.
