Photogravure Printmaking Workflow

Traditional Photogravure Etching Process. Stage 1: Expose positive transparency onto gelatin tissue. Stage 2: Transfer tissue to copper plate. Stage 3: Wash away unhardened gelatin. Stage 4: Dust plate with rosin powder. Stage 5: Etch in acid baths. Stage 6: Inking and hand printing.
