Two lists, depending on your passport and documents
The broader list applies to Polish citizens and to EU, EFTA and UK citizens with documents from EU, EFTA or OECD countries. It also accepts a Polish matura, a UW certificate, and school or degree certificates showing English as the language of instruction.
Other foreign applicants follow the additional requirements introduced by the Act of 4 April 2025, which targets irregularities in Poland's visa system. If your school certificate comes from outside the EU, EFTA, OECD, Ukraine or China, you must submit a document from the Minister of Science and Higher Education's list, pass an entrance exam and present a NAWA statement on your foreign document. Master's applicants with a non-recognised degree from outside the EU, EFTA and OECD need the NAWA statement and the B2 proof.

Is an Indian or Pakistani degree enough?
The ministerial list includes IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 72 and PTE 59. It also accepts a university diploma that states the language of instruction, or a diploma supplement or certificate showing it, so an English-taught bachelor's from India, Pakistan or Nigeria can serve as proof if the paperwork names English.
The pages we read do not state how old an IELTS result may be.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your University of Warsaw programme page and in your offer, so check it there before you book a test.
